Case Study: 2 x 6 - Multi-monitor setups - EIZO EV2455 Fulfill High Requirements of Gasunie Deutschland
Gasunie Deutschland is responsible for managing, operating, and developing a 3,600-kilometer-long natural gas transmission network in northern Germany. The network operator provides customers with integrated transport and infrastructure services and meets the highest standards when it comes to safety standards and business processes.
Gasunie monitors its energy management entirely from the Gasunie control center, which makes this area very sensitive for the company. The requirements for the technical equipment at the control center are just as high. Gasunie has been using EIZO monitors for its dispatching work stations for many years. And the company decided to choose an EIZO product once again in mid-2015 when it re-furbished its multi-screen work stations. The company had been impressed by its good experiences with EIZO monitors, especially regarding image quality, ergonomics, and reliability. Gasunie opted for the newer EIZO FlexScan EV2455 to replace the EIZO FlexScan EV2402W model that had been used in the control center until then.
All of the EIZO monitors are incorporated into 12-monitor arrangements at the dispatching work stations in order to keep as much data in view as possible at a time. One of the advantages is the ultra slim bezel measuring just 1 mm, which allows the EV2455 to offer an almost frameless display. In addition, the monitor stands out thanks to its low heat output and quiet operation, which are both advantageous especially for multi-screen solutions.
“The ergonomic visualization, especially of topological displays, is very valuable to Gasunie Deutschland. This is why we have carefully evaluated the arrangement of monitors, before finding it good and deciding to expand it to meet additional needs. The new EIZO FlexScan EV2455 monitors allowed us to meet all requirements to our complete satisfaction,” explains Eckhard Peters, system administrator at Gasunie Deutschland.
