EIZO Adds Cost-Efficient 23" Widescreen Model to Clinical Review Monitor Series
Hakusan, Japan September 1, 2010 – Eizo Nanao Corporation ("EIZO") today announced the release of the 23-inch RadiForce MS230W (1920 x 1080 native resolution) to its RadiForce MX-series of clinical review monitors. The RadiForce MS230W joins the 17, 19, 21.3, 22, 24.1, and 29.8-inch models already available for a full lineup of LCD color monitors uniquely designed to meet the needs of a filmless environment where clinical records and DICOM images need to be displayed.
The RadiForce MS230W is a cost-efficient alternative to fully-fledged diagnostic monitors for hospital information systems (HIS). It features a DICOM mode whose grayscale tone is preset on the production line for reviewing medical images with patient charting applications. The CAL Switch function offers five modes for brightness and grayscale adjustment that can be selected with a single front panel button. The five modes are DICOM, Custom, sRGB, Movie and Text modes.
The RadiForce MS230W offers a high-contrast ratio of 3000:1 which results in deep black, ensuring colors such as red, yellow, and blue retain their richness when displaying color images. It also brings out the subtle differences in similar shades of grayscale and sharper rendering of details when displaying monochrome images.
The RadiForce MS230W comes equipped with a wide array of ergonomic and environmental features that provide increased user comfort, lower operating costs, and minimize its burden on the earth. The first such feature is an integrated presence sensor that offers convenience and energy savings. The presence sensor will prompt the monitor to switch to power save mode when it detects the user is away from the monitor and then resume normal operation when the user returns. The presence sensor even differentiates between your presence and a still object like an empty chair or general job activity in the background.
To encourage workers to use their monitors with optimum environmental and economic performance, the RadiForce MS230W can display an on-screen gauge which indicates energy consumption in correlation with the screen's brightness. When the gauge is fully illuminated, the monitor is operating at optimum energy efficiency.
To reduce environmental burden at each stage of the monitor's life cycle, EIZO reduced the number of internal components on the RadiForce MS230W and redesigned the monitor's body. The resultant ultra-slim cabinet is 48% thinner and 41% lighter than a previous EIZO 24-inch widescreen monitor and lets it ship in a smaller container with significantly less packaging.
The RadiForce MS230W rests atop EIZO's unique FlexStand. The highly-versatile FlexStand offers tilt, swivel, height adjustment, and also portrait rotation and laptop-like screen placement for adjusting to any clinical review environment.
