Booting Issue with Mac mini 2018 (macOS Mojave 10.14.5) when Connecting Monitor via USB Type-C or DisplayPort

1. Outline

When connecting a monitor to Mac mini 2018 / (macOS Mojave 10.14.5) via USB Type-C (including USB Type-C to DisplayPort cable) or DisplayPort, reboot problems occur.

* This issue has been resolved on macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Please update to newer version.

Target PC Mac mini 2018
Target OS macOS Mojave 10.14.5 (does not occur with mac OS Mojave 10.14.4 or earlier)
Target Monitors Monitors that have USB Type-C or DisplayPort input terminals
Target Connection USB Type-C (including USB Type-C to DisplayPort cable)
DisplayPort

 

2. Detail

macOS boot process proceeds and the Apple mark displays on the screen, but the login screen does not appear and the boot process repeats or "No Signal" message is displayed and shifts to power saving mode.

 

3. Permanent measure

Please update to macOS Mojave 10.14.6.
