Without doubt, Dr Les Walkling is Australia’s leading authority on fine art photography and digital image making. Les studied science and philosophy at Monash University in the early 1970s and went on to study fine art photography. The resulting mind is not only creative, but can critically analyze the finer points of image making that most of us leave to the push of a button.

Les Walkling’s fine art photographs have been exhibited internationally and can be found in private and public collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The Centre for Creative Photography, Arizona, and in The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, The National Gallery of Victoria, and the Art Gallery of NSW.

Les Walkling has lectured in photography since the early 1980’s (he was a senior lecturer at RMIT up until 2011), but from 1993 onwards he has consulted on the subject of digital photography, preservation, archiving and color managed workflows for a range of clients including state and federal government agencies. Les is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, the Institute’s highest honor.
