  Dot Pitch

The distance from the center of one dot, or in the case of tension mask type displays, one bar, to the center of the dot (or bar) of the next closest dot of the same color. Dot pitch gives a general idea of the monitor's ability to produce sharp images; the smaller the dot pitch, the sharper the image. It must be noted, however, that the focusing ability of the display is also an extremely important determining factor.
