Monitor recognition when starting up Power Mac G4 with the ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics board (DVI-D) - Mac OS 9.0.4 to Mac OS X -

This is to inform you about the monitor recognition when starting up the Power Mac G4 with the ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics board (DVI-D).
The monitor recognition varies according to the version of the OS installed on the Power Mac G4.

1. With Mac OS 9.2.2
If EIZO DVI SXGA LCD monitors receive a digital signal from the Power Mac G4 with the Rage 128 Pro (DVI-D) and the Mac OS 9.2.2, the resolutions supported by the monitors are listed. As of February 2002, when an EIZO DVI LCD monitor is connected, the resolutions as shown below can be selected from the "Monitors" control panel through the "Apple Menu". If selecting any lower resolution mode than the panel resolution, the image in the mode is automatically enlarged to display.

640 x 480 (built-in)
800 x 600 (built-in)
1024 x 768 (built-in)
1280 x 1024 (built-in)

2. Applicable monitors: FlexScan L685, L676, L675, L671, L565, L465 and L461
Note: Do not select any resolution modes without "(built-in)" in the "Monitors" control panel. Doing so results in no image display. In this case, shut down the Mac OS and connect another DVI monitor with the G4. Start up and shut down the computer. And then, connect the original monitor again to start up the system.

3. Available resolutions for SXGA DVI monitors with a digital connection to the Power Mac G4 in each Mac OS
