Problem of Inappropriate Resolution (ActiveRotation II Supported Monitors)

Applicable Monitors:
FlexScan L997 and ColorEdge CG210

1. Description
The L997 and CG210 may not display images at the expected resolution in the following cases:

1. When the computer and monitor are turned on and the monitor is in landscape mode, the 1600 × 1200 resolution is not found in the screen resolution options.

2. When the computer and monitor are turned on and the monitor is in portrait mode, the 1200 × 1600 resolution is not found in the screen resolution options.

2. Cause
These monitors store the resolution information in accordance with the monitor orientation mode (portrait or landscape) that was active when they were last turned off. If they are turned on in a different monitor orientation mode than when last turned off, the computer will output signals in the wrong mode.

3. Countermeasure
To obtain the desired resolution, please conduct the following operations with the monitor switched on (LED lamp blue).

Case 1:
1600 × 1200 resolution (landscape mode) is desired.

1.Turn the monitor to portrait mode with the monitor switched on as shown in the picture below.

The following illustration will appear on the screen. After a few seconds, turn the monitor to landscape mode again.

2. Restart the computer.

Case 2:
1200 × 1600 resolution (portrait mode) is desired.

1. Turn the monitor to landscape mode with the monitor switched on as shown in the picture below.

The following illustration will appear on the screen. After a few seconds, turn the monitor to portrait mode again.

2. Restart the computer.

4. Usage Note
When the monitor is turned on in a different mode than it was turned off, the resolution information is not correctly reflected as explained above. To avoid this problem, please make sure to turn the monitor on and off in the same orientation.
