| EIZO LCD Monitors Are Easy On The Eyes & The Budget |
| As technology continues advancing at an accelerated
pace, companies must embrace these new technologies to succeed in
today's competitive markets. Rambus Inc. provides its employees and
its customers with the most advanced, high quality technology solutions
available. Rambus is implementing leading-edge LCD monitor technology
provided by EIZO company-wide as part of its recent relocation to
a new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, California. |
| |
Rambus
Inc. designs, develops and licenses high-bandwidth chip connection
technologies. Many of its key employees are engineers, whose job functions
include viewing detailed graphics and databases on a computer monitor
for as many as ten hours a day. Prior to the company move, engineers
complained about glare from their computer screens due to the building's
poor lighting and the exclusive use of CRT monitors. In response to
these employee concerns, Rambus improved the lighting and purchased
EIZO's FlexScan L771 LCD monitors featuring 19.6" viewable area
and providing UXGA resolution (1600 x 1200). This is the highest resolution
commercially available in the 20" class of LCDs. |
| |
| Why Rambus Chose EIZO Flat Panel LCD Monitors |
| "We have been watching flat panel displays for
several years, and the resolution has been good enough for a PC, good
enough for a laptop, but not good enough for engineering work,"
says Dirk Gardner, a member of Rambus' IT Support Staff. With the
addition of EIZO's L771 monitors, Rambus is now providing its employees
with better displays - and saves significantly on energy costs. |
| |
The
benefits of using EIZO's L771 are so great, that Rambus is in the
process of installing this product in all departments throughout the
company. EIZO's LCDs provide significant reduction in glare, previously
experienced by CRT monitors. This reduces eye strain on the user,
thus creating a more ergonomically pleasing display device. |
| |
| Another key benefit of EIZO LCD's is the significant
savings they provide in energy costs. This is due in part to the low
wattage (19.6" L771 LCDs draw 67W compared to the 21" CRTs
draw of 160W). |
| |
Since
the low wattage emits less heat when in operation, Rambus is expected
to experience a reduced air conditioning expense as well. Rambus believes
low energy displays are the most effective, energy efficient, ergonomically
pleasing devices for their company.
Being dedicated to providing the most advanced, high-quality technology
products, EIZO and Rambus Inc. have developed a business alliance
to combine components of both companies' existing products. Six of
EIZO's FlexScan LCD models currently utilize Rambus' RDRAM system
solution to enhance the capabilities of flat panel displays. |
