The Fire Department in Garland, Texas is comprised of nine stations working together to serve the community in the safest, most efficient way possible. "We must have a system that allows us to broadcast fire operations information to all stations, and trust that the messages are being received," says Smith. "With the addition of EIZO's InfoPlanner? software, as well as the 5420P plasma display with built-in PC, we now have a system [InfoPerformer] that ensures communication and increases efficiency throughout the Department." EIZO is the first manufacturer to develop an integrated plasma with a built-in PC. |

| Firefighters Depend On EIZO "InfoPerformer"Messaging Solut |
Chief Danny Grammer is always looking for ways to keep the Garland Fire Department one step ahead of modern technology. Grammer's forward-thinking and innovative ideas allowed his staff to research and implement EIZO's products into its fire department. Smith and EIZO worked together to mount InfoPerformer displays in a central location in each of the stations. Smith develops presentations to communicate road closings, special events and city-wide alerts. This ensures that all messages reach the entire Department across the city. "Firefighters now rely on the boards for instant updates every day," says Smith. "It is hard to miss the clear, colorful presentations on the large display boards." The firefighters now refer to EIZO's InfoPerformer as the "Big Head."
The Garland Fire Department has found EIZO's InfoPerformer to be a financial benefit to the Department as well. The "Wake on LAN" feature has the ability to turn itself on everyday at a scheduled time, and turn itself off once it has finished broadcasting it's messages. "This option has been a huge energy and cost savings for the department," says Smith.
In addition, the InfoPlanner software has a number of features that allow the user to customize information . "One feature that I find extremely valuable, is the ability to group messages, and send them from my PC to remote plasma displays in various stations," says Smith. "An added bonus is the flexibility I have to make changes to the presentation schedule with the click of the mouse, and the ability to add a ticker message that will scroll across the bottom of the display boards."
