Factory Adjustment of Gamma
  10-bit Gamma Correction Image
Not only are the ColorEdge CE models designed for accurate color reproduction, but each unit is adjusted at the factory to a gamma value of 2.2. This is accomplished by measuring the R, G and B gamma values from 0-255, then using the monitor's 10-bit Look-Up Table (LUT) with its 1,021-tone palette to select the 256 most appropriate tones to achieve the 2.2 value. Users can also set their own values from 1.0 to 2.6 (1.8 to 2.6 in analog connection) in 0.1 increments with the ColorNavigator CE software. This is important because accurate, non-fluctuating gamma values are necessary for the proper display of color. If colors are not based on specific values and cannot be adjusted, images will be displayed differently by different monitors. ColorEdge CE monitors provide both precision and consistency, so graphics professionals can be sure that the final product will look exactly the way they want it to.
14-Bit Processing

The ColorEdge CE240W incorporates a powerful new EIZO-developed ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) with 14-bit color processing capability (16 times more accurate than 10-bit).
This allows a larger number of grayscale increments, for grayscale rendering that is on a par with high-end CRT monitors. The result is a much greater degree of color detail, especially in dark areas and shadows.

14-bit v. 10-bit Processing
14-bit v. 10-bit Processing
With 10-bit processing, the error rate is high in low tonal areas during calculation. With 14-bit processing, accuracy is significantly improved resulting in fewer conversion errors.
8 ms Midtone Response Time

An overdrive circuit smooths the flow of moving images by adjusting the voltage input for each frame based on image data from the previous three frames. Commonly used in LCD TVs, overdrive improves midtone response time — the time required to transit between gray levels — to 8 ms, greatly reducing blurring in moving color images.

1000:1 Contrast Ratio

Whether viewing color-rich images on a dark background or fine, detailed text in charts and documents, contrast ratio is a key factor in sharpness. The 1000:1 contrast ratio produces a pure black and brings out the subtle differences in similar shades of color.

ArcSwing 2 Stand

This EIZO-developed stand provides an arc-shaped range of movement so the screen can be positioned up high near eye level or lowered at an angle akin to reading a book for a more natural viewing posture.
