How It Works

On the following pages we invite you to see for yourself, how many colors are hidden away in our monitors. To achieve this, two color profiles are compared with each other following ICC standards. As a special feature, you can also test your own hardware, by loading its profile.

Profiles describe a device's color reproduction characteristics, meaning which and how many colors can be represented and processed by that device. Simply put, profiles are an important component of color management.

The result will be illustrated to you as a 3D representation of both profiles; one as a volume representation, the other illustrated as a grid. Through a direct comparison the differences are easily illustrated; the larger the represented body volume, the larger number of colors that are available (color space size).

To make the comparison, a VRML plug-in, which can be downloaded free of charge, is required. You can find out here whether you have one available and from where you can download one.
