Choosing the Right Monitors for a Color Management System

Benefits of the ColorEdge Series

Faithful color reproduction and smooth gradation

For faithful color reproduction and smooth gradation, ColorEdge devices feature a specially developed application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) control chip.

In addition, gradation performance is tuned at the factory for all monitors shipped, keeping deviation between individual units low. With ordinary monitors, for which this adjustment is not conducted, variations in gradation can arise between individual units of the same model.

  • The gamma value for all ColorEdge monitors are adjusted at EIZO's factory.

Special calibration software bundled

Our ColorNavigator special ColorEdge calibration software developed in-house is included as standard. This software makes very high-precision calibration easy. The program is also optimal for CMS, as it enables the preparation of accurate profiles.

Equipped with digital uniformity correction circuitry to maintain uniformity in screen colors

ColorEdge features digital uniformity correction circuitry, a technology that maintains uniformity in screen colors (not including the ColorEdge CG210-N, CG19 and CE models). At the factory, gradation and chromaticity are measured for each monitor shipped, and tuning is conducted to ensure uniformity of colors across the screen at all gradations.

In addition, using the specially developed computing circuitry described above, we apply our own technology to make adjustments for uniform display of colors at all gradations. This technology thus allows for extremely high adjustment precision.

Broad display areas using widescreen format

Using a widescreen-format LCD panel, many ColorEdge models offer a very broad on-screen work area.

Broad display areas using widescreen format
  • Conventional monitor: working space and tool palettes overlap.

  • Widescreen ColorEdge Monitors: full working space and tool palettes are displayed simultaneously with no overlap.

Also optimal for preparation of video content using panels tailored to video display

ColorEdge models using VA LCD panels and overdrive circuitry offer superior video display. They are also ideal for the preparation of video content.
