Three Inputs Including DisplayPort
Unobtrusive Speakers
0.5 watt speakers are hidden within the monitor cabinet, so you can enjoy sound while bezel size is kept to a minimum. If you require greater volume, the separate i-Sound L3 sound unit with dual 0.9 watt speakers can be attached to the bottom of the monitor.
Six Preset Modes Including "EyeCare"
tFor optimum viewing of different kinds of content, Text, Movie, Picture, sRGB, Custom, and EyeCare preset modes are included. Available for the first time, "EyeCare" mode lowers brightness to a mere 3 cd/m2. This mode helps prevent eye fatigue in an environment with little or no lighting.
Placement Flexibility
The FlexScan S2243W comes with a "FlexStand" that offers tilt, swivel, 90° rotation for portrait mode viewing, and 157 mm of height adjustment. Its innovative, bearing-less design reduces mechanical wear and the amount of torque required to adjust height.
24.1" of Screen Space Packed into 22"
With a 1920 × 1200 native resolution, this 22" monitor displays the same amount of information as a typical 24.1" monitor, but in 10% less desk space. Another way to look at it is that it shows 30% more information than a typical 22" monitor with a 1680 × 1050 resolution. This size and resolution is ideal for offices where a 24.1" monitor is desired, but cannot be installed due to space constraints.
Improved Work Efficiency, Reduced Visual Fatigue
EIZO conducted a survey in 2008 to establish the relationship between eye fatigue and monitor use. The results showed that features like Auto EcoView, ergonomic stands, and the EyeCare utility helped reduce eye fatigue and improved work efficiency by 12.5%.
EyeCare Utility
EIZO's new EyeCare utility prompts workers to take scheduled breaks, thereby promoting healthier work habits and preventing eye fatigue caused by prolonged monitor use.
Optimized Brightness with Auto EcoView
An Auto EcoView sensor on the front of the monitor measures ambient light and optimizes the screen's brightness to levels akin to viewing a sheet of paper under typical office lighting conditions. Since the screen is never too bright, eye strain is reduced while power consumption is cut by up to 43% compared to operating the monitor with Auto EcoView turned off and set to the default factory brightness of 100%.
DVI Input Level Adjustment
The monitor compensates for image quality degradation that may occur when connecting to a signal switch box or to a PC via a long cable.
Individual Adjustment of Gamma
For better image consistency in multi-monitor environments, EIZO adjusts the gamma at the factory.
Zero Watts When Turned Off
When the monitor's power save mode and off timer function are set, it consumes less than 1.5 watts of power, and when turned off via the main power switch, it consumes no electricity at all.
Simple Color Matching with EIZO EasyPIX
The optional EIZO EasyPIX color matching tool is ideal for digital SLR camera users looking to match colors between their monitors and photo prints. With the EasyPIX software you can match the monitor's color and brightness with that of the photo paper and then create a monitor profile with the bundled EX1 color sensor. No expertise in color management is required and the profile can be shared with image retouching software to ensure accurate results when printing.
Energy Efficiency Gauge
To encourage environmental consciousness while working, a user-activated gauge called "EcoView Index" indicates energy consumption in correlation with the screen's brightness. When EcoView Index is fully illuminated, the monitor is operating at optimum energy efficiency.

Wide Color Gamut
The monitor reproduces 95% of the Adobe RGB color space. This means it can display most colors of a photograph taken in a camera's Adobe RGB mode including many shades of cyan and emerald green that fall outside the color gamut of typical sRGB monitors.
