EIZO Group Corporate Philosophy

EIZO Group Principles of Conduct – Seven Promises -

We promote our business with integrity and bravery by establishing “Principles of Conduct – Seven Promises –” as follows.

 

1. We will supply high-quality products and services loved by customers through creating and offering new value by unique technologies and ideas.

2. We will promote our manufacturing and business activities in consideration of reducing their environmental burdens.

3. We will act as an international corporation with a global outlook and mindset.

4. We will conduct open and fair trade.

5. We will seek to build and maintain strong bonds of trust with our stakeholders (business partners, employees, shareholders, and the local community).

6. We will strictly respect and comply with both the letter and the spirit of the law as a good corporate citizen.

7. We will respect basic human rights and value a broadminded corporate culture.

Principles of Conduct

1. We will supply high-quality products and services loved by customers through creating and offering new value by unique technologies and ideas.

1-1. We will seek to develop and utilize cutting-edge technologies.

1-2. We will deliver products and services of high quality and reliability.

1-3. We will deliver the most suitable products for the market based on EIZO’s brand concept by taking into account diversity of the market and of customers at the right time and with reasonable pricing.

1-4. We will build the most suitable sales and service structure to respond promptly to various requests from our customers.

2. We will promote our manufacturing and business activities in consideration of reducing their environmental burdens.

2-1. We respect and comply with environmental laws, regulations and other standards applicable to our products and corporate operations.

2-2. At the research and development stage, we pay careful attention to the design of our products to minimize the consumption of resources and energy, ensure ease of recycling, and reduce the volume of toxic substances. Our aim is a continuous raising of our environmental standards.

2-3. In our corporate operations we give due consideration to conserving energy and resources and to preventing environmental pollution.

2-4. We provide education and enlightenment activities about environmental issues for company employees in order to deepen their awareness of environmental protection.

3. We will act as an international corporation with a global outlook and mindset.

3-1. We will recognize diversity of culture and practice in each country and region, and implement our business out of respect for the situations of different countries and regions.

3-2. Through our business activities, we will contribute to the development of the countries and regions where we conduct our business activities.

3-3. We do developing, purchasing, manufacturing and distributing activities in the most desirable countries or regions.

4. We will conduct open and fair trade.

4-1. We will build strong bonds of trust with our customers, suppliers and any other business partners and build partnerships with them to develop together over years.

4-2. We place importance on fair market competition and perform fair and transparent trade. We never operate activities that exert unreasonable pressure on business partners.

4-3. We will fairly and equally select suppliers by comprehensively assessing the quality and price of their products, their delivery date assurance, technologies and management stability and, furthermore, whether they fulfill their social responsibilities such as making an effort to protect the environment.

4-4. We will not acquire confidential information of any business partner or customer, including individuals, corporations, organizations, through improper means. In addition, when we know that any particular information has been acquired and/or disclosed by others through improper means, we will not acquire or use it.

4-5. We will not engage in improper restriction of trade, including cartels and bid rigging activities, or impede fair competition.

4-6. We will not engage in any unfair trade including resale-price maintenance and solicitation of customers by offering excessive premiums.

4-7. We will not abuse our dominant bargaining position over our subcontractors, including delaying of payment and unjustified returns.

4-8. We will not offer money or any other benefits to domestic or foreign public officers or staff of public institution contrary to the applicable laws and regulations.

4-9. We will not offer nor accept business entertainment, gifts or any other benefits in the relationship with business partners contrary to the applicable laws and the regulations or beyond general business customs.

5. We will seek to build and maintain strong bonds of trust with our stakeholders (business partners, employees, shareholders, and the local community).

5-1. We will conduct business with a view to improving long-term corporate value.

5-2. We will disclose information to our stakeholders in an appropriate and timely manner to maintain the fairness and transparency in our management.

5-3. We will listen sincerely to any feedback from our stakeholders and respond to them in good faith, in an expeditious way, and in an appropriate manner.

5-4. Through our social contributions and communications with the local community, we will seek to build up and maintain a relationship of trust with them.

5-5. When a disaster strikes, we will engage in recovery activities in order to continue to supply our products and make an effort to support our customers to maintain uninterrupted use of our products.

6. We will strictly respect and comply with both the letter and the spirit of the law as a good corporate citizen.

6-1. Enforcement of Compliance

6-1-1. We will respect and comply laws, regulations and customs of each country or region where we perform business activities, furthermore, we will understand the spirits of them and perform business activities in good faith and in a fair manner.

6-1-2. We will not overlook any actual or suspected activities in violation of laws and regulations, socially accepted ethical standards, and/or company regulations and will properly report these activities by whistle-blowing system or any other appropriate means.

6-2. Product Safety

6-2-1. Upon occurrence of any product or service-related accident, or upon proving to be at risk of the occurrence of such accident, we will immediately confirm the facts and take appropriate measures to minimize damage.

6-3. Protection of Personal Information

6-3-1. We will appropriately acquire, store, use and/or destroy personal information on our customers, business partners, shareholders, and officers/employees in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations as well as internal procedures.

6-4. Prohibition of Insider Trading

6-4-1. We will not buy or sell securities including certificate of stock, taking advantage of any non-public information (insider information) of our company or other companies that we have come to know in connection with the duties or transactions.

6-4-2. We will not leak insider information to any officers/employees or others (including family members or friends) who are not legitimately involved in such information.

6-5. Protection of Company Assets

6-5-1. We will manage and use the assets of the Company for business purposes of the Company, and will properly protect the assets from damage, destruction, theft, leakage, etc.

6-5-2. We will also properly safeguard intangible assets including brands, trademarks, patent, know-how, confidential information and information systems that constitute to the assets of the Company.

6-5-3. We will not improperly use the assets of the Company for any purpose other than our rightful business purposes.

6-5-4. We will not disclose or leak to others any business-related confidential information, including corporate information, which we come to know during the employment without the permission of the Company not only during the period of the employment but also after the termination thereof.

6-6. Prohibition of involvement in Anti-Social Groups or Organizations

6-6-1. We will not have any relations with anti-social groups or organizations that pose threat to the order or safety of a civil society.

6-6-2. We will act firmly when challenged by unlawful demand from anti-social groups or organizations, and we will not participate in any conduct that promotes their activities.

6-7. Compliance of relevant laws and regulations on exporting and importing

6-7-1. We respect and comply with international rules and applicable laws and regulations concerning the import and export of products, materials, service, technologies, etc.

7. We will respect basic human rights and value a broadminded corporate culture.

7-1. We will respect basic human rights and will not engage in speech or actions that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, creed, national origin, or social status.

7-2. We will not engage in violence, sexual harassment, abuse arising from the unfair exploitation of workplace position or rank, or any other activity that disregards human character.

7-3. We will not use any form of forced labor. We will not approve any labor of children who have not reached the minimum age for employment according to the laws and regulations in each country or region.

7-4. We will make an effort toward the fulfillment of human rights protection, rejection of unfair labor, and addressing environmental issues in accordance with principles of the United Nations Global Compact (*).

7-5. We respect individual diverse values of each company member and support them to progress and reach self-fulfillment.

7-6. We tackle new challenges with an enterprising spirit and build an appropriate work environment for accomplishing our tasks in a creative way.

7-7. We will maintain a favorable work environment and protect the safety and health of our employees.

7-8. All of our employees work together to strengthen their ability to cope with disasters. We will develop and maintain a business structure that can function appropriately in an emergency.

7-9. As a member of society, we act with a sound sense of responsibility and judgment.
