Notes on Macintosh Returning from Sleep Mode when Monitor is Turned Off
and USB Connection is in Use

Applicable Monitors:
EIZO FlexScan and ColorEdge monitors with a USB hub

1. Description

When there is a USB connection between an EIZO FlexScan or ColorEdge monitor and a Macintosh PC and the monitor is turned off after the Macintosh goes into sleep mode, the Macintosh will come out of sleep mode. This problem occurs in Mac OS X 10.28 or later.

2. Cause

Macintosh returns from sleep mode when it is connected to or disconnected from USB equipment. This problem occurs because Macintosh recognizes the power-down of the monitor as the disconnection of such equipment.

3. Solution

Please power down the monitor before Macintosh goes into sleep mode. In this case, Macintosh returns from sleep mode when the monitor is powered on.
